• The Overland Farmers Market (OFM) is forming a 501(c)(3) organization, for the purpose of creating and managing a farmers market in the City of Overland, Missouri. The stated goal of the farmers market is:

"The Overland Farmers Market will
provide access to locally grown produce,
increase activity downtown
and promote healthy eating alternatives
for the citizens of Overland and surrounding area."

• The market will operate on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The market will begin operation this year on May 8, and continue till October 30, weather permitting.  The OFM is at the Overland Market Center, located in the City parking lot between Baumann Colonial Chapel and Overland Hardware, on Woodson Road.

• At least 80% of OFM vendors will be local producers of fruits, vegetables, other edible products and plants, with the prior approval and oversight of the OFM Management Committee.  This represents a strong commitment to foster and support local growers.

• A maximum of 20% of OFM vendors will be allowed to sell non-locally grown fruits, vegetables, other edible products, plants or other items with the prior approval and oversight of the Management Committee. This is allowed to provide variety in the products sold and help create a festive market atmosphere.

• There will be a community tent available for use by local charities, entertainment and smaller producers to participate at the OFM. We expect this tent to tie the market into the community and bring a wide variety of Overland area residents to the OFM. There is a $15 fee for those seeking to use the community tent as a fund raiser for their charity.

• Vendors will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis with preferences given to those offering direct farm-to-market, locally grown fruits, vegetables, other edible products and plant materials. Anyone interested in becoming a vendor is encouraged to contact the OFM immediately. Vendor charges are $200 for the year, or $15 per week.

• The OFM Management Committee is committed to helping the vendors succeed through implementation of a robust marketing plan.

• The OFM will strive to serve all constituents through adherence to the Americans with Disabilities Act and will not discriminate based on personal differences.

For more information about the OFM or to become a vendor, please download the application and rules on the vendor page of this website, and/or contact (314) 769-6360, or  any member of the Management Committee/Board.
